Ask who is treating you
Find out the credentials of the person who will hold the syringe, not the name on the door. Ask whether you will see the same clinician for consultation, treatment and follow-up, or whichever injector is available that day.
Continuity matters most for staged work, where the plan develops across visits and someone needs to remember what was done and why.
Ask how consent is handled
You should be told the specific product being used, whether the proposed use is approved or off-label, the common and serious risks, the alternatives, the expected recovery and how complications are handled.
A consultation that skips straight to a price list has skipped the part that protects you.
Ask what happens when something goes wrong
Injectables carry real risks, including rare but serious vascular complications with filler. Ask who to contact out of hours, what the practice does in an emergency and what follow-up is included.
A clinician who is comfortable discussing complications is usually the one who has planned for them.
Notice whether you are being sold to
No ethical consultation guarantees a result or pressures an immediate decision. Being told that a requested treatment is not appropriate is a good sign, not a bad one.
Leave understanding the plan, the cost, the consent and the aftercare. If you do not, that is information too.
